Workforce Australia Local Jobs (Barwon), in partnership with The Gordon’s Skills and Jobs Centre, facilitated an in-person jobs expo to assist with linking employers to individuals interested in working in the care sector. The event aimed to maximise participation in the care sector in the region, increase retention rates and assist in meeting labour shortages in the region by providing individuals with links to available employment opportunities.
The sessions provided opportunities for pre-screening interviews to take place, leading to provisional job offers for individuals seeking work in the sector.
The event was held on August 2nd at the Eastern Hub, with a morning session commencing at 10am and an afternoon session commencing at 1pm. Each session featured a short presentation on the sector, introductions from all employers in attendance, followed by an opportunity to undertake short interviews with potential candidates.
The event was a great success with over 129 job seekers attending and collaborating with 10 local Healthcare employers and 2 RTO’s.
