Apprenticeship and Traineeship Support Forum for Employers at the Geelong Small Business Festival – 14 August

Are you or anyone you know interested in putting on an Apprentice or Trainee?

Join Local Jobs Barwon and Skilling the Bay as they facilitate an Apprenticeship and Traineeship Support Forum as part of the Geelong Small Business Festival.

When: 14 August, 11.30 am – 12.30 pm

Where: Wurriki Nyal Podium Level (137-149 Mercer St, Geelong)

The apprenticeship and traineeship landscapes are complicated with several key services providers and points of contact for the various aspects of employing and training an apprentice or trainee. As a result, there are many employers who despite good intentions do not understand the requirements to ensure a successful apprenticeship or traineeship experience, and/or who do not meet their legal obligations over the course of the apprenticeship or traineeship.

During the Geelong Small Business Festival, Workforce Australia Local Jobs, in partnership with the Skilling the Bay will facilitate a panel discussion including representatives from organisations with credibility and experience in supporting apprentices and employers, with industry employers also sharing their experience.

The aim of this session is to foster increased participation in apprenticeships and traineeships within our region, focusing on enhancing retention rates and assisting with labour shortages in the region by providing links to individuals seeking employment.
